About Peru Lima Fair Trade Organic
Arrived in late October 2026 (this week!) in GrainPro.
This Fair Trade Organic coffee comes from Cajamarca, a major coffee-growing region in the northeastern highlands of Peru. The areas of San Ignacio, Jaen and San José de Lourdes, all in the greater Cajamarca region, are the principle sources. The region’s fertile soil and high-altitude farms provide favorable conditions for coffee production, with many local producers growing coffee on small farms throughout the area.
This is sourced through Lima Coffees, a Peruvian coffee company owned by Rony Lavan Guerrero. This lot includes four varieties commonly grown in Peru: Catimor, Caturra, Bourbon, and Typica. It is processed using the washed method, which involves removing the outer skin of the coffee cherries, fermenting the beans, washing away the mucilage, and drying. This is a young coffee producing group which now has about 700 member farmers who contribute their coffee.
Peru is the world's leading producer of organic coffee. The main varietals represented here are Typica, Caturra and Bourbon. All processing is fully washed which includes depulping, fermentation, washing and sun drying.
